The todo list that isn’t getting any shorter

Going over my mental “projects in progress”, and I realize I have a problem. Too much down time and not enough action on my part. Throw in my tiny solar generator, some musical gear, preparation for the big freeze…

Not my circus

For anyone following the presidential race in the US, tonight marks the first evening of debates. On social media, the enthusiasm is palpable. What will you be doing, this evening? “laundry”, “my hair”, “mowing the lawn”. Guess I can wait for the reactions on YouTube, later this week.

Stir before shake

With my schedule, I find new and interesting ways to fill up the hours of the day. This morning, early, I began listing all the people in my class, from a half century ago. Doing well, although I will need to look at some old photos to decide if my memory is exhaustive. Oh, yes, the photos… part of another project.

Who? Sorry, don’t know him

We do not own a grand domain. We are not the “masters of all we survey”. However, if you come along the road behind the house on a ATV, and then head down into the cottage area, WE WILL be watching you! Just wanted to get that out there. Even if the dog doesn’t bark, because he is otherwise distracted by the food on my plate.

New tags on the tags

The discovery of a body in the RV should have been treated differently, I suppose. However, one tiny mouse does not mean an invasion. We installed odd little ultrasonic devices, back in the spring, and I’m going to assume that a) he found his way in and b) couldn’t find a return route. See; problem solved. The noise probably killed him.

A new case, just in case

Try two… I had to pause and reactivate my software, because ten years is a lifetime. I wonder if anyone ever asks why. In my case, when something actually works, without a hassle, I keep it around. In passing, there’s a machine with WordStar around here. In case of an emergency.

Prophylaxis for the masses

There it is. The announcement I’ve been waiting for; flu shots are finally available at the pharmacy. I say “finally”, even though this seems to be one of the earliest dates, ever. You see, what with all the other stuff going on, I’d prefer to have that little bit of extra protection, going into the next few months. Guess this proves my vaxxer-status is real.

Right on return? The dog does not understand

In today’s news, Hurricane Teddy passed through, in stealth mode. From where I sit, this barely kept one from kite flying. That’s a good thing, I guess.

My role as a backstop

Already mid afternoon, and all seems well. That is, the electricity is on, the rain is barely aggressive, and the breeze is about right for an autumn afternoon. I want to get these observations out there, before things go south (or is it north).

In case of a storm

We’re under one of those weather watches, as a hurricane aims for the area. I’m so hyped that I just broke open my bag of storm chips. Still have two days to go. Is that a bad thing?
