Trying to decide what looks so different outside. Could it be; yes. Our abundance of pretty yellow flowers is gone. Apparently letting someone drive the GM (green machine) around in circles for several hours not only makes the grass “uniform”, but it removes the fun food for the hares. I had campaigned for a delayed start to summer, on behalf of the bees. Managed to get the month of May.

Pay attention, people. That concert you’re watching on YouTube (more than 60K, right now) is live, but it’s not LIVE. Important nuance. I’m referring to the Led Zeppelin concert, Celebration Days. Filmed in 2007. If you think that you’re getting something new and exciting, I hate to burst your balloon.

Up front, a confession. I don’t fly. No wings. And, by extension, no frequent flyer points. The industry has sales techniques that I find rather sketchy. In fact, I’ll go a step more. I find them to be merciless.

Welcome to warmer weather. Right now, it’s 25C, inside and out. The “chiller” has been switched to the run position, and my chair is under a curtain of cold air. Now we wait for the rest of the house to catch up. Sleep comes quickly when we aren’t confusing the mattress with a sunny afternoon at the beach.

I must not blame the weather, when my Internet gets useless. Fog and showers is not supposed to bring my (wired) feed to its knees. Note that I will not call the Bell hotline; too insulting to hear that I simply need to reset the ADSL and my router. I already have. No, this comes down to a crippled system, where the company is able to bill for service that is intermittent and slow. Are you listening?

In my frame of things, the return of the GM this afternoon is remarkable. I now have a new battery, tubes in the silly front wheels, sharpened blades, a retensioned head gasket, grease on the joints… it’s almost as if the fates want our lawn to be kept trim.

The Green Machine has gone for a ride. I don’t know the why, but a man with a trailer arrived in the yard this evening. He took the scenic route, down below, and I had to explain that winter isn’t officially over so we still have the GM in the garage.

Some years ago, on an impulse, we purchased a GPS that came with lots of features. Too many to master, actually. And, on occasion, I let the unit serve as a logger while we visited various parts of the continent.

The message seems credible: a notice from Canada Post that I’ve missed a delivery, and a link to download the related shipping documents. H

Finally, the sugar buzzards are here! We are so excited that we now have two separate feeding stations, because otherwise the number of natural locations (think, flowers) might prove insufficient. At least we’ve got the recipe mastered: some sugar, some water, a steady hand when pouring into the plastic contraptions.
