Binary options?

posted in education |

High on that list of things to not take for granted: spring weather. Why, only yesterday, the media pointed out that we were experiencing the warmest temperatures ever recorded for the date. Today? School start delayed, a new layer of snow and roads that were iffy. I mean, I didn’t drive ALL the roads, but the trip from here to the grocery was not exactly fun. Better keep the boots out for a bit, and the change to summer tires will be in summer. Life in the great white North. Oh, and based on a grammar meme, that is not “white great North”.

Unsure what I accomplished with the rest of the day. A good nap? And, naturally, some family lookups. A normal day…

The news mentions a new (that’s their business, after all) investment scam, called “binary options”. Something about how you bet your money and the winner gets to keep it. Sounds like those card games that the big kids ran in the cafeteria over lunch time. Yes, I occasionally came up richer by twenty-five cents, but it wasn’t a guarantee. And since I would have spent the money on a sugar-topped bun, probably better for me. It’s just that the rules are clear (to me). If you have so much extra money that you can afford to gamble in “the market”, you deserve whatever comes up. Binary anything leaves little fudge room. Either/or. Win/lose. In fact, after reading the news story again, with mention of “free credits” to bet with, this sounds like online poker. Nothing to see here fools/folks. Just move along.
