Quiet is the word

posted in environment |

Yes, the neighbours voted. No, the result wasn’t the predicted one (at least according to mainstream media). Maybe the future will be without crisis. Any more questions?

I had a busy schedule here. The new piece of furniture was delivered: a large space heater with a fireplace display. Had to put a lot of time into getting things moved around in the living room, because the volume of furniture exceeds the available area. As well, we decided to mount the TV on the wall, so I had to get my head around the installation steps. No big deal, once the actual place on the wall was designated, and with a few hours since we haven’t heard the big crash. I’ll call this one a success.

The home theater speakers that I bought several years ago on eBay no longer match the decor, so we’ll receive some new gear next week. In the meantime, the media receiver is in its new place, but quiet is the word.

The door repair team arrived, as well. After some careful study, they decided to go minimal damage; the door wasn’t pulled from the wall, but the frame has been reshimmed and I’m hopeful that the draft problem is now solved. It’s always a crap shoot with structural repairs, but the lad who comes up here does take his job seriously. He also fixed the front step shimmy.

The antenna for my marine receiver was on one of the two other delivery vans today. I didn’t have to pay any additional duties, so that is a plus. I’ll try to mount the “wave catcher” tomorrow.
