Refreeze and reheat is not reflavour

posted in food |

Trying to put a positive spin on my supper choice. Reheated pizza. The freezer bundles are small, and they’re almost all gone.

In a small family, sometimes you have to choose the right size, when you get takeout. Obviously, my decision to purchase the super duper party rectangle could use a second opinion, especially when I’m the only one eating that takeout. My freeze and eat later strategy comes with a negative: the pizza wasn’t great to begin with. Keeping it “on ice” for several weeks hasn’t improved the quality. In fact, I’m going to suggest (to me) that the next big buy comes from companies that specialize in selling frozen foods.

Started watching a new series on Netflix, this afternoon. Supposed to be a retake on the movie “Frequency“. After two episodes, I’m torn; the actual ham radio content is flawed on so many levels. Yes, radios may appear magical to the uneducated, but to think that you can span twenty years of time and zero distance… completely outside of my own personal experience. This series would be better served by old newspapers, or a library book that was long overdue.

Glad to see that others are picking up on the wonder of a cross-strait extension cord. The local news media have offered a variety of “show and tell”, right down to the premier cuddling a short section of the wire. Now to explaining to the rest of us about how the cable will be laid and buried in the cold November seas. Oh, and will we know when they plug the thing in?
