Protect the berry patch
An eventuality, I’m telling myself; the report from the garden is that we’re under attack. The berries are ready to harvest, if you don’t mind the whitish colour and bitter flavour. Apparently, the hares don’t mind. Or have no mind. Whatever.
But, I did have that roll of chicken wire that I’d purchase during a “just in case” shopping trip to the hardware store. All I needed was something to consolidate my form. Bamboo sticks, for example. After a long exercise in trying to find the leading edge of the roll (it involved removing a wire that they’d added in the factory to keep things tight for shipping), I managed to make two two metre panels. Criss-crossed at ninety degrees, I now have a berry shield. I hope.
And according to the weather forecast, we’re going to get some of the “summer weather” we all love to boast about. The beaches will be full. The markets will welcome a swarm of trusting tourists. Plants will welcome a watering. I might even leave the yard for something longer than a cage dump. Who knows? Perhaps the dog needs to explore the Singing Sands, where he can try four squeaky paws. We shall see.
The news (and FB, and Twitter) tell me that Pokemon Go is the new big thing. I checked the in-app prices, and realized that I don’t need a new big thing that much. $eriously. The idea of spending hundreds of USD to play a game on my iPad never crossed my mind. Thankfully.
