Off to feast
Our second time around; at the Village Feast, I mean. This year, I planned ahead, for the dog. A leash, a waterbowl, a place away from passersby. I think he was happy with all that.
For us, a good meal, even if I don’t usually seek out an occasion to sit at a long table, outside, with strangers. That’s my approach to life. Happily, the field kitchen is unaware of my discomfort, and I “scored” a pair of steaks, properly cooked and with enough extras to make it a meal. Special mention of the real cutlery, because trying to fraction meat with plastic is akin to torture. Once again, the small dish of beans and corn, spiced to the standards of somewhere in Africa left me indifferent. And before a single drop of rain could fall, we were done and on our way home.
There’s another squirrel in front of the house. Actually, I spotted him at dawn, and put the travel box out where he could freely embark, but the fear of upsetting the chipmunk trio saw that removed before breakfast. Now we’re in evening mode, and he’s back, and so is the cage. Let’s see if greed will trump wisdom.
A lawsuit by cable TV providers against those who sell Android “boxes” has caught my eye. You mean, I have an alternative way to get access to a better channel mix? Will my Roku, or my Apple TV, allow the same possibilities? If not, would a Raspberry Pi do the deed? Time to read up on this.
And on a late night note, there was a firefly on the lawn this evening!
