A minor detail
For the last twenty-two months, I’ve been involved in our house project. Some months were without any visible progress, while others seemed to rocket by. The whole thing continues to inch (centimeter?) forward; today, the builders finished installing the fancy fake stone facing on the lower back wall. A minor detail, but hey, it looks good!
Out front, the flower beds are showing green. According to the plan, we should have blooming flowers, real soon now, if the hares and squirrels don’t decide to harvest in living colour. Do squirrels eat flowers? Probably. The garden beds should be in, by next week, if the ordered load of gravel ever arrives. Already shopping for an electric fencing solution: hares, etc.
Inside, our year will be up in a couple of weeks, which removes the interdiction to paint walls. Scary thought. I’m happy in my white world, even if winter is barely out of view. The floors, thankfully, shouldn’t require any other investment.
Because, in the end, this is our gift to the local hardware stores. We will buy and buy, and they will happily take our money. No end in sight. You may wonder why I haven’t added photos… this is a work-in-progress.
I did go for a walk around the back yard, in my bare feet. The grass is rejuvenating quickly, and it already feels good. Can’t wait until we achieve shorts ‘n tee temperatures. And don’t get me started on the beach possibility. After all, one can’t do everything in the same day.
