One decade on and continuing

posted in environment |

A long time ago, I played tuba. By default, I made a lot of noise…

Had to go back to my very first post, to see what I’d used to start this whole train of thought. A long time ago, in blog terms. And like most things, I didn’t get into the “swing of things” right away; my first year was sparse. Except that ten years ago, today, the motor finally started for real and hasn’t shut off since. A decade of posting, and I’m not done yet. Heading toward the goal of “a million words”…

I now have a local bank account; no more money than before, just more places to pay user fees. Oh, wait… I think I heard something about “fees waived” due to my advancing age. Now that’s something to inspire a brief happy dance!

I’d forgotten, almost, about how the snow moves sideways around here. While the stuff isn’t deep (yet), it never sits in one place for long. On the roads, a game to be certain where the ditches might be, and that’s in broad daylight. Night travel has an aspect of video gaming. There are stretches where the highway people dump sand instead of salt, and that just “colourizes” the affair. I’ve placed a small shovel in the car, for that eventual moment when I have to shovel my way back onto beaten ground.

Windy, this evening. Almost set a record for this site… I placed the waste bin out to the road, but it may end up ditched before morning.
