Failure to understand the weather updates

posted in Wx |

Clearly, the others in this house fail to understand the importance of the latest weather updates. We may have a snow storm, in less than a day. We could find ourselves obliged (as opposed to the normal state of making a choice) to stay at home while the winds buffet the known world. We might not see the ocean for much of that period. The dog could be forced to shorten his stay outside. Please, could someone help explain the reality of where we are to the newcomers.

I checked, and we still have storm chips left from the last time (in fact, I’m having some right now, in anticipation). I don’t want to imagine the trauma of running out and changing over to that half-box of Harvest Crunch. I could bake bread… and we still have tomorrow, so a trip to town for supplies is on my list of important things to do.

Right now, the others are watching an early episode of that Potter story. On my list of other things to do is a read of the paper (or epaper) volumes. I know: I’m a decade late, but I don’t know all the details yet (same reason I haven’t watched the video version). Mind you, I did go to a screening of the last one, over on the Rock – not quite five years ago. How time does go by!

The tree in the living room morphed during the night. We’re now on full holiday status, and I’ll have to schedule a turkey thaw within the fortnight.
