A shout out to Anne

posted in education |

From time to time, the Google logo changes. Serves as a shout out to special anniversaries. Today, this Island took notice, because our own avatar was highlighted, several times. By tomorrow, there’ll be something else, but today, we applauded, locally.

(You can type whatever you want into the enclosed rectangles, but the answer will remain invisible. Just wanted to point that out. After all, Anne is fictional.

So, I was up really early today. Had to plan a quick run for food while waiting for a delivery truck that might arrive at almost any moment. The website was very unclear… Anyhow, the truck arrived just before dark, but it didn’t matter. I’d already cleared my calendar. I now have a double set of bike lights, a super-duper lock and an annoying bell. All part of obeying the rules while protecting my investment. Now waiting for two more boxes, of which I’ll keep one and return the other. Glitch. It should satisfy my need (and yes, it’s a need) to purchase stuff online, in keeping with the Black Friday/Cyber Monday occasion.

Unfortunately, the lens I’ve been watching didn’t drop in price.

After supper, Netflix brought us a movie that needs to be noted. Too over the top for me to review; I should watch it again, just to see if I can get my head around it. If I follow the visuals, life in Europe (OK, Berlin) isn’t at all like here; my sober ways would turn me into a standout. If you care to test your own “how would I fit in”, the film is Unfinished Business.
