Keys to the enigmatic beige box
In today’s mail, a long await key. Finally, I can open that enigmatic beige box that sits by the corner of the house! Not so mysterious, actually; I was there when our generator was installed, but I feel that it’s mine, when I can look inside and admire the machinery. And see the control panel. We’ve been protected for over 820 hours, already.
The pressure is on to get some of the little jobs around the yard out of the way before the season changes. I took the time to refasten the bolts that hold the weather station in place. Can’t think of very much else that really requires an effort, other than marking the limits of the end of the driveway. Best to know where the car is buried before it happens.
In Ottawa, cleaning up after the last tenants continues. Today, some (expensive) paintings were rehung, allowing that portrait of the Majesty to be placed elsewhere. Received one of my regular emails today (from a hobby group), pointing out that I don’t really need to spend money (I don’t have) on special audio treatment panels in the basement. Truth was, I intended to repurpose my extra wool blankets, but now I can explain to those who wonder about such things that it was an advised choice. Simply turn down the speakers a notch, and the echo should subside.
