Flashy flowers

posted in environment |

I swear, I didn’t see it. That screen door, the one that jumped into my path earlier this afternoon; well,  I was distracted. The screen wasn’t there, only minutes before. No matter how many valid reasons I threw up in my defense, the others just laughed and laughed.

On a better note, I went outside today. Far from the vexing screen. Took the camera along, and captured some decent flower images. Nothing too gaudy; these were ditch blossoms. Still, a credit to whoever took the time to get them away from the traditional garden.

This is a beginning. I lack .excuses for not getting out and about. With good weather, a charged battery (both me and the camera) and a little composition, there are almost endless possibilities. Of course, I’ll have to find that flower guide I packed away, and try to identify the various plants. “A yellow flower” covers so many possibilities!

We had another visitor, this afternoon. All the way from Hong Kong! That “visitors’ book” might be an idea worth pursuing.

Out for supper this evening. I wish I could make my fried fish taste as good as that at the local café. Is there a trick? Or a potion. It might be the freshness of the fish (no frozen fillets in this instance).

So, what next? Maybe a trip to the beach? A few days of camping? Summer will end, and all the wishing won’t bring back those opportunities. Have to think this through. Present the idea as “a chance to use the cameras”.
