A wet dryer
In a “what have I done” moment, I finally connected the water supply hose to the clothes dryer. Not sure what happens next; as long as the result doesn’t involve electrocution (or an extra suds cycle), it should be OK.
The “feast or famine” model for communications kicked in, this morning. Multiple telephone calls, text messages and emails – all at the same time. Something to do with the document signing for a financial transaction. I’m still ambivalent, or as the movie tagline put it so eloquently, “Show me the money!”
My first official act as secretary for a local community group: preparation of minutes from our last meeting. How did I make it this far in life without using such an essential skillset? I did attend the meeting, and I did scribble notes (my handwriting is designed for rapid transcription; waiting a week did not improve the legibility). Hopefully, the group will proceed with mercy during the official reading, and suggest polite fixes for my errors and omissions. I think that I “got” most of the personal names right, and the date was written in several places (with correlation).
The idea of adding a small hobby lathe to our workshop was broached, this evening. I realize that the “cheap” option won’t stand up to real use, but this is more of an educational opportunity. If and when the need requires better gear, we’ll shop accordingly. I wonder if that set of wood carving tools we have around will serve as entry-level knives? Should prove interesting. May the blood shed be limited!
