New levels of security

posted in environment |

The morning started with an old-fashioned fog; pretty, once it started to burn off. We won’t have to depend on the mists to mask our existence. The window dressers made their visit, and left us with varying levels of mechanical obturation. Not as much a “bare necessity” as in the city, but adding a sense of security.

The real level of security also climbed, as each door received its new lockset. Tricky to align, when there is no way to see what is going on “inside”; had to leave the final door to the future, and exit via the newly activated garage door. My ladder climb could have had a hard ending, when I misjudged the final step, but the piles of boxes provided cushioning.

Still no ‘net. Bell doesn’t change. After things were in order, we headed for the city for some particular shopping. Where to purchase a few cinder blocks? Kent knows, and we were taken under the wing of a “retired but working three days a week” mentor, who helped us to choose among the various models of manmade stone. Add in some door shims and several passage sets, and our trip was a resounding success.

Started looking for an upgrade to home cinema speakers. Unless the banker is your friend, forget the high end stuff. We didn’t see anything that bore the label “take me home” so I now have an alternative to runs of audio cable across the floor. Some sort of Bluetooth transponder. I’ll let you know how that turns out.
