Hours of musical variety in store

posted in travel |

The whole of the daylight period today was spent in intense family time; locked in the van while we drove cross-country to spend further intense family time. The musical mix was eclectic.

In part, allowing other people to pass CDs forward will guarantee that whatever comes up next is going to be unexpected. From Loco Locass to Johnny Cash, from CBC Radio 1 to Led Zeppelin on the Rock, from old ballads to new rap. We sampled it all. At times, I began to hope we’d have a silence break. Guess I can only blame myself for not deciding in a typical dictatorial fashion what the rest listened to by supplying MY personal choices. Next time?

At home, the snow cover is consistent. Within an hour, we found that spring is not far away for the rest of the world. Road conditions were excellent, and the absence of heavy truck traffic made the day pass without any gasps of close-call distress.
