Marvelled at the mounds

posted in environment |

Even a solid (sic) mattress won’t keep the tired among us from sleeping. However, coffee will be a requirement, at the earliest instance. Without sounding like a mAd Man, the new Timmy’s dark black is actually OK, once cooled below the danger point. And with my stomach acid restored to a functional level, we were off to sign the papers.

A law office rarely ventures into entertaining, but this was relaxed. Old (OK, approaching old) acquaintances, gathered around the reception counter. Never needed the chairs in the inner sanctum, and with a wink and a nod we were up the chimney out the door and on our way.

The job site was uninhabited. We marvelled at the deep pit, and the high mounds, and the obvious need for more work, both in and out. Ever an optimist, I remained thankful that there were signs of a really good project about to take wings.

There was an email, later in the morning, to say that tomorrow would be a different day.

Lots of other things to be done though, and after a quick home visit where both dogs seemed to like having new ear scratchers around, we signed up for insurance. Not the gold, nor the bronze; colour me silver. The coverage will kick in, soon, and mentally checked another item from the “to do list”. Still need a water quality certificate, and that open pit needs more effort before we can handle a full cycle of aqua use.

Off to town to learn about motorized blinds and comfortable couches. The rest of the afternoon was just a blur.
