Placing windows and such
The email came during my afternoon nap. Ignore my propensity for resting, and focus. Thank you. Anyhow, the question was a simple one: “Where did we want the basement windows placed?” So simple…
If we’re dealing with time in a forward looking sense, that question meant that the foundation is not yet poured. Or in layman’s terms, we’re probably about two weeks behind on what I thought was a schedule. Ignore the sudden onset of winter; beyond my control. I’m sure the contractor knows exactly what he’s doing. Right?
And so we grabbed the house plan (main floor view, only) and started the suppositions. What if we align the windows with the ones upstairs (sic)? Works for me. And then, do we want a window in the bedroom? Yes. And the bathroom? Not necessary, now that we can buy light bulbs. Besides, with only two windows in the lower section, better to save one for the rest of the space. How about the machine room? Not under the master bedroom – put it under the utility area. And that bathroom can line up nicely with the one just above. Good. Now write a short, descriptive paragraph that the contractor can use as guidance.
We had also asked for a tentative moving date, and realized from the tentative answer that they know the house is running late. All will be in place just before the holidays. Except for the appliances, unless the dealer in town is in to making special efforts on our behalf. Something tells me that we’re heading into a restless few weeks.
