Updated app

posted in computing |

Sort, pack, pitch and pause. The two bins are full, and until the big trucks pass by for refuse collection, our great dump is halted. We can get back on task for the weekend. The alternative, where one rents a great metal box has been avoided for now. We’ll see what a deadline brings.

It’s funny what accumulates, when the “we’re going to live, here, forever” plan is in play. Only when faced with the finite space available in a van does one have to get rational. I found bits of paper (with stuff on them) that brought back a flood of memories. I found a motley collection of trunk ends (yes, tree trunk) that could have been turned into something artistic, but weren’t. And cola cans, from a time when anything other than the Big Two seemed interesting. All gone, of course.

The day saw a visit from a friend, who doesn’t understand why more than one or two computers in a single household could make sense. Oh, how an opportunity for education slipped by! I lost count of CPUs, a long time ago. That is something else that I’m supposed to reduce. How to choose?

But, enough worrying about tomorrow. This evening, we had good food and weather,  and I’ll be ready for bed early (sore eye).

The app for magazines on the iPad didn’t respond well to the recent iOS update. I contacted the publisher, and they responded with a new version. Sure, they probably knew things were broke, but they did write to me, and tell me that they would fix things, and they did. Cool!
