A blonde barking lamb

posted in environment |

I live by my calendar, at work. Otherwise, too many doubled requests, which pleases none. And this afternoon, I sent my first refusal, due to “insufficient days left”. I knew it would arrive…

Turns out that I missed an “Oops!” moment in the office, yesterday. If a particular plug is pulled from the wall, for whatever reason, the whole information service powers down.

At home, another landmark moment. The “black line drawings” for a certain house have come in. Now we get to do the final revisions: count plugs and fixtures, choose the tubs, move a window from one end of the house to the other… Having a view into the garage is seen as wasted (or introspective). Will the door to the deck bump into the dining room table? Calculate. No do-overs in the house building business.

We’re hosting a spare dog (who is newly shorn and resembles a blonde barking lamb). It grows out, every time, so why bother. Just like us, the hair will reach a maximum length. Let it be! Maybe she’ll gain some complacency when she’s warm(er).

Watching the news with an “open house afternoon”. Too many microphone dropouts and people wanting to meet “the host with the calming voice”. Glad I didn’t queue.

Waiting to see how the municipal police are going to explain the “accident” where they drove over a cyclist, in reverse, and packed away any real evidence into the cruiser trunk. A certain optic, here. For the record, the cyclist was NOT rolling backward, and he died because of that lapse in judgement.
