Not all days equal

January 2, 2006 has little to offer in the way of “personal success”. I tried to reconfigure the Motorola print server; it died. I went shopping for light bulbs; all the stores were closed for the holiday. I downloaded 5 CDs worth of SUSE Linux; it couldn’t “see” the existing partitions, so I had to abort before my hard drive was reinitialized.
However, I became stubborn and kept working on various questions; sometime after midnight on Jan 3, 2006 I configured a working sound solution under Slackware Linux on the laptop… new day, new start.
