Consideration of a soaking sink

posted in travel |

Even in the quiet times (others call them weekends), I find myself up for early coffee. And a bagel, if there are any left. And early TV. Not much on a Saturday morning, once you get past the age of reason. No matter.

This has been a travel day. Four hours of road time, down to be by the lake. Not close to the shore, since the ice is decaying, and I might decide to test the strength. We loaned the dog to son #1 (his needs a calm companion) and left the house to its own devices. Along the way, the strangest thing was seeing erratics. In a geology sense, but made from river ice, cast up when the flood passed through. I would have taken pictures, but we were moving too fast for the cellphone to stop trying to autofocus.

In retrospect, the most interesting part of the afternoon’s conversation turned on how to properly design a laundry area in the next house. We had not thought about  the utility of a soaking sink; that will now change. And the addition of a small bathroom in the basement. Saves running up and down stairs at incovenient times. Or hiding out. Whatever.

Now to relax (we’re home again, all in the same day). On TV, hockey which is not relaxing. Might have to find the good headphones and withdraw from the local community. Maybe try out some new tunes, or check out the movie feed. My choice. Tomorrow is a major holiday which rules out shopping, but there’s plenty of other good things to do.
