Mixed nuts

Some movies are harder to watch than others. We have just finished Hotel Rwanda which is something that will reinforce one’s belief in the goodness of others. At the same time, you may despair for the base nature of the human race. Not all is noble and kind. Recommended.

The weekend is here, and this has been the sort of week where I feel as if I’ve been busy spooning water from one side of the puddle to the other. My desk hasn’t emptied, even though I did have a chance to help others over a few speed bumps.

I wonder if I can convince son #3 yet again to follow the lawnmower for an hour or so. Do I have the energy, if it takes two days. I should trade the dog in on a goat; do goats handle protection duties as well? Something to research.

Cory Doctorow has written another great story; this time about our favourite search engine in a brave new world. Worth the read.

Thalassa has transported me to Morocco, complete with snakes and rocks. Odd choice of scenery for the best seaside program on TV these days. The coolest shorts involve a black cobra, which looks like an intelligent beast from this point of view. A very good point of view; I don’t think I’d like to spend the evening with my hand on a writhing tail. Actually, the story is documentary about a river. The ocean is never far away. Good musical bed as a plus.
