Apprised of falling objects
Best get the seasonal stuff out of the way, before anything else.
Still too early (in every sense of the term) to tell if this will stay, but I guess I’m going off in my boots from now on. The summer pleasure of bare heels and toes must be set aside (in the same manner as a bare head and hands).
Had a chance to watch a Bogart/Bacall movie this morning. Not the usual one; this was their first of five. To Have And Have Not. The political backstory seems to have them cast in a world where the French and the Germans are both at war, and beyond that I was lost. In a basement, most of the time. Still, the music was worth the admission price, and if the two of them reappeared (think, time machine) they’d still make good movies. In colour, probably. After all, America is still at war.
Trying to decide if I’m ready for a vacation away from the snow and cold. It’s only been hours, but others are doing it, and I’ve managed to hold off for decades. Have to give it some thought (while slogging through the drifts). Maybe next year…
I wish I’d spent longer studying math. And rocket science. Seems that we’re on another “falling satellite watch”, with something weighing about a ton (no Imperial/metric conversion necessary; it’s heavy) about to fall out of a polar orbit. I have a vague idea about what that means (from the brief reading on amateur radio satcomms and telemetry from a few years ago). I’m still unsure what separates an object from stuck in orbit and falling down. Hence the need for mathematics. Otherwise, I’m going to spend the rest of the night waiting for a loud noise in back yard.
