A pleasing meeting
A funny thing happened on the way to the weekend. We had a departmental meeting, and for the first time in more than a decade, the time was worthwhile. New boss. New attitude. No posturing. Collaborative discussion. A promise of more to come. Might be on my way out, but more than my attitude has changed. And the mention of vacation schedules didn’t degrade into something ugly.
With that out of the way, I was able to go home on a high point, and the bus got me into the neighbourhood earlier than most days. Couple that with some very good weather (short sleeves and sunshine work together) and my weekend starts on the “right foot” as people say. Watched another Jason Statham movie, Safe, where he proves that smiling is highly over-rated. A student of the Charles Bronson school of acting.
Received a matched pair of attenuators this afternoon; one of those things that you don’t know you need until you do… Worth my time to shop around, given the two-for-one price scheme from a store in NYC. Won’t be trying them out, any time soon. Decided to play Samaritan to a co-worker, who needed better recording equipment than his cellphone for an upcoming variety show. He seemed surprised that the “ask and you shall receive” thing works.
Plucking my nostalgia cord this evening, looking at photos on FB from my time in harmony with others. Lot of faces that haven’t changed, if the black and whites are to be trusted – oh, wait, photos aren’t supposed to change. My bad.
