Ferry nice weather
Some days are meant for lookin’ and eating cheap ice cream. When the temperature soars, and the sea is as gray as the air above it, I can see why people don’t want to do much else other than sit and watch what is goin’ on outside.
After a meal of donairs, we headed over to the cliff above the ferry docks. A chance to take a few pictures while the final pages of HP7 went by in the driver’s seat. Much to my surprise, as the Madeleine cast off for it’s afternoon cruise, behind her in the mist was the smaller sister, the Voyageur. It’s not often that I have a chance to see the two in the same viewfinder frame, so I “took a few shots” on that cheap digital film I’m learning to appreciate.
Here are the CTMA sisters, as they appeared on the afternoon of July 24th, 2007 in Souris, PEI.
My blogging is starting to be like time lapse photography, as I can’t always get signal when I’d like. This afternoon, try as I might, there was no connection happening at the CAP site, so I improvised with a self-assigned address. The keepers of the castle were intrigued by this workaround, so I ended up giving a brief session on addressing and helping to update firmware on a pair of low end routers. Much like a day at the office.
Back to the CTMA fleet. I can remember when the Manic was removed from service, and when the Stena Danica (renamed as the Lucy Maud Montgomery) took over the duties. The latest vessel, the Madeleine, was purchased from the Irish ferr service and renamed from the Isle of Inisturk. I haven’t been aboard yet.
