It’s all about radio
After closing up the cottage and wishing a good road to the rest of the family, we set off through the morning mists (when does mist become downright thick fog, I wonder?) to see what greener pastures lay at the end of the road. A quick stop in St. Peter’s saw us unable to connect to the ‘net, so we hid our dismay from the local population and went on to Souris.
The usual parking spot at the tourist bureau left us with nothing. Not even a nibble. How could such normally fertile waters have gone dry? Inside, I went upstairs and stumbled into a beehive of activity – wireless, that is. The CAP site has electricity, comfortable chairs, local chatter and wireless… all you can drink. We set up with the twin Dells and put the young’un onto a desktop. Ample chance to blog, check email, do the ‘bank thing’ and check the probs. After all, camping requires knowledge of the weather, even if you can’t do a thing about it.
The PIC at the CAP (person-in-charge at the community access point, for those who need to know) assured us that the wireless should be available even in the dark of night, if we park in front of the building. Good to know for those nights when we’re late on the road back to the campsite.
I feel ready to take on the world, now that the ether is alive.
