No sense in racing headlong to relaxation
There. I’ve decided not to race headlong towards relaxation. Instead, I’m going to take the time to breathe, and clean out the refrigerator, and try to find all the camping stuff before we leave. It’s like an epiphany.
Today was the day I should have pushed all the buttons to get us “out on the highway”. When I arrived on the side lawn with two tents and a sleepy disposition, something went awry. The act of setting up a tent is not difficult, and I saw that after the tent is up, I’ll have to find something else to do. Something besides climbing inside and sleeping for a month.
Tomorrow I will find some good books in the basement. I’ll take the time to check out the new camera and make sure that I know what all the buttons that I intend to push are meant to do. I might even load up the GPS with enough books to try a geocache or three while we’re in the neighbourhood (I’d sure like to hook one of those cache-fish some time).
Despite appearances, I am about to try vacation for a change.
I have, however, taken a backup of the various laptop drives. Just in case something unexpected happens… or in case I get some phenominal photos while pushing all the buttons.
