Leave my caped crusader tale alone
Call me a traditionalist. I am, after all, a child of the ’60s (among other decades). I’m not given to change for the sake thereof. This weekend, the latest Batman movie was running on DVD here, and I was not impressed. That’s not the real caped crusader. Sure, some of the names were familiar, but I didn’t find myself engrossed in the story. If there was one… nice heliwhatever, though.
This day started with a misunderstanding. I do not confuse people with government. Usually, people are fine. As a rule, governments are a dizzy “one step forward, two steps back” comedy routine. What provoked a rather heated discussion involved a medical case that required someone to drive from the Maggies to Quebec City, on their own dime, because the air ambulance was not appropriate (air on the lung). The newspaper article cited a lack of interprovincial agreement that would have seen PEI and NB provide a relay service. I am a child of the ’60s; if governments can find a way to cheap out on things and then blame someone else, they do. Constantly. Nothing to do with people, and everything to do with dizzy.
I updated the bus schedule that we keep by the front door. Why change “some” of the runs, by an average of two minutes? Yes, the two minutes are important, when you are the one running for a seat.
This is the 75th anniversary of the publication of a children’s tale called “The Hobbit“. The story has held up well, over the years.
