They have to win the bowls to get to the cup

posted in sports |

Went lightbulb shopping today. So many different form factors, and none lasting longer than a matter of months. Even with intermittent service. The real disappointment was finding that the floodlights were too large to fit in the holder, so my outdoor darkness system is still incomplete. It doesn’t really matter. I don’t go out at night.

This was a big football weekend, with back-to-back bowl games at the university level. Laval is going on, to a rematch with McMaster. Next Friday night, in Toronto, for the Vanier Cup. I intend to join the TV audience. No distractions permitted. In this afternoon’s matchup, Acadia learned that the Laval program really is “bigger, louder, better”.

This is another two dog evening, and the competition for attention is intense. If one goes out, the other wants to follow. If one eats, the other wants to feast. Etc. Etc. Nature really is a dog vs dog sort of place.

Somebody in the house has just bought a reproduction action figure. That the item only ships to the US is an added element in the game, but there are workarounds. Friends. Begging. Roadtrips (I jest). It would be an interesting baptism for those shiny passports.

Time to add that I bought a snow scraper and a snow shovel while over at the hardware emporium. Also, a small hot air tool. If I can’t heap the white stuff, I can try finding a long extension cord and then melting my way to a cleared driveway. Once again (I jest).
