Less pans and a new PVR
Changed my coat today. Not so that anyone would notice, mind you. I’m a firm believer in the low key look, and I won’t change style or colour unless the article is no longer available. Think of long term success: blue jeans, or white socks. The perfect polo. That’s my choice and I’m old enough that nobody (else) cares.
So, back to the coat. My GoreTex jacket has started to wear. Cuff edges, that foolish cord around the waistline, the hood. Even a Sharpie can’t hide that level of abrasion. And so I detoured on the way home, down to MEC. I’m a member. Their inventory is available for mail delivery, but I figured that a coat fits better if you try it on. In, on, out. A matter of minutes. Didn’t even require the intervention of a clerk. Clothing sales the way I like. Paid the bill, caught my next bus and got home with less than an hour extra on the meter.
The cupboards are a bit emptier. Son #2 has scored a box full of decent pots and pans. Some Creuset. A T-Fal pan than has never been used in this kitchen Some Paderno, still wrapped. Pretty good deal, and proof that we’re finally starting to downsize around here. Someone at work mentioned that when you move to a new house, you shouldn’t regret the stuff you brought along. And from where I sit, we shouldn’t need a convoy.
There’s a new PVR under the TV. I’m still sketchy on the why, but it allows P in P, pause for the phone and few other neat media tricks. Something else to learn about.
