Things I’ve recently learned
What did you learn today? I picked up all sorts of trivial knowledge, and will now try to process the factoids into a format that is meaningful to me. It’s supposed to assure retention.
I learned that flying from Toronto to Rome takes an average of 8.5 hours. Longer than my bus trip to and from work. A great excuse to cadge a nap (the bus ride, not the flight time). And if you leave Toronto at noon, it’s going to be bedtime when you arrive in the Eternal City. A nap and a good night’s rest: one more reason to travel.
I learned that credit card fees in Canada are too high. Actually, I knew that before, but now I have company. Influential company. If a campaign slogan is needed, may I offer the succinct “Time for a change!”.
Oh, and TV advertisement volume is too loud. Quite apart from learning how to run the volume buttons on your remote, this is another reason for change. See the above strophe. And stop looking for the second part; I haven’t written it.
Long commutes are a factor in heart disease. There. One more reason to retire at the first opportunity.
The dog (current placeholder) whines to go outside. Whines for food. Whines for all sorts of reasons. Time to train him to speak, clearly. And if he excels, I’ll write a book and go on tour. Promise.
I learned that the repair tools in Windows 7 can’t repair everything. Better luck on the next iteration, Redmond.
