Back at the bottom of the hill

posted in humour |

(I thought I was) doing so well, until the dents in the bottom of the new red Thermos were noticed. Now, I’m back at the bottom of the hill, with another long climb ahead. Whoever said mountaineering was fun was just wrong.

My problems pale next to others. Nobody has taken my successful website down (yet). My dog (if I had one), wouldn’t scorn me after I came back from an exciting intercontinental voyage. So many things to be thankful for. I even had the day off, with no heavy duty duties to distract me from watching (alternately) the TV and my Kobo. Easily satisfied am I.

After a careful evening of shopping and comparing, I realize that my tastes run to the expensive. I wanted a carrying case for some gear, and toolboxes are either too large, too poorly made or too expensive. In revenge, I went to my favourite surplus store and paid a fin for an attache case. Old school; works every time. Now to find a supplier for free foam that can be cubed and cut to provide protective custody. For gear. Like a voltmeter, or something. I’ll work on this and get back with details. The easy answer would be “Pelican” but those are REALLY expensive. Quality, without a discount. I even tried eBay.

It appears that there will be a New Coke and and New Pepsi. Nothing to do with marketing and everything with some lab rats that responded poorly to overdoses of 4-methylimidazole. I hadn’t noticed that one on the ingredient list – must have been part of the secret recipe that’s kept in a vault.
