Decoding XLVI

posted in education |

The dog is visiting, and believes that going inside and outside, over and over again, is a game. It was, the first few times, but now I’m looking for something to distract her OCD.

Watched the steps required to construct a banjo on Discovery channel. No wonder there are so few of them seen in the wild.

Today was “find the parts of that old camera kit”, and I realize that my eidetic memory fails, when it comes to visualizing things I a) didn’t know we had that have b) been stored in unusual locations. Yes, it made sense to store that lens in a lens case; just not that lens case. And this is not related to my previous reference to LBA. Although I still would like to purchase a lens that would fit into that lens case. I’d even lower my exacting standards and purchase one from the company whose logo is stenciled on the nylon exterior. That’s a hint.

Newfoundland is into its fourth snow storm in just over a week. Cool new coverage. I would still go back there as a tourist, even with the realization that it isn’t always warm and sunny cool and foggy. The Rock, remember.

As we prepare for the combat of the titans (Superbowl XLVI), how many from the fan base realize that the alphabet soup symbolizes a number? One more benefit of a general education. Let’s face it, unless you spend far too much time decoding the cornerstones of large institutional buildings, the Roman numerals are probably a mystery from your elementary school years.
