Weather or not, I’m jealous
There’s an old saying that everyone talks about the weather but nobody does anything about it. I am part of that happy gang; the climate is one of the biggest factors in how we live, if not where. If only we could choose where; because right now, whether or not we can do anything about it, weather or not, I’m jealous.
You see, my yard still has enough snow to take on hobbies such as snowshoeing, or sculpture, or making of maple syrup taffies. I have an abundance of frozen water. Meanwhile, the PEI newspaper shows the first golfers of the year. There is no envy (on my part) to chase balls around fields, but the choice would be nice.
Or how about another photo from North Lake, taken earlier this week. It illustrates a new undertaking; an iceberg garden. As near as I can see, someone has seeded a whole bunch of baby bergs (are these the famous “bergy bits” so sought by the ice observers of yore? If all goes well, they might someday harvest a new supply of big ones. Seriously, they look small in the picture, but remember that only a fraction is showing. I think these ones are taking root quite nicely.
All in all, I’m tired of the colour white outside. Even if it’s starting to match my attitude; a little grey with darker highlights. Never has summer looked so good.
