En route for Tax Free Day
Today, in keeping with a desire to live more economically, I declined the purchase of a new pool vacuum hose. Instead, I found the correct size of connectors to repair my current equipment, at a cost of 20%. If I can do it, why can’t my governments?
The newspaper mentioned that this province hits Tax Free Day later this week. For the last few months, every wretched penny I’ve made was coveted by some level of revenue agency. However, I wisely will not be splurging with my new wealth, come next week, because my other creditors have continued to need me. Food, lights, telecommunications, transportation; the list goes ever onward.
Not to despair, since a portion of my taxes will be used to my benefit. A small portion, but that is not open for discussion. The country has needs, too. New planes, a bigger arena, improved highways going to places I never visit. The needs of my neighbours. I wonder if the government ever gets up early to find the cheaper way of keeping the pool clean? Didn’t think so.
Speaking of neighbours, the one across the street has noticed my bird nest. Thinks it is quite amusing. Watch out, oh good neighbour; if I should ever block the air vent that now gives shelter to the grackles, they might decide to choose your domain. Not so far away, after all. Mere seconds of flight time. If I can find the right language for a signpost, I shall assist them in their quest for new(er) lodgings.
