An orange tsunami??

posted in media |

With a degree of sadness, I have a confession. Today, I slept in. And through my failure to get my head above my toes, I missed The Wedding.

What could I have been thinking? Was my dream better than that of billions? Maybe… I don’t remember the details, but my dreams are usually good cinema AND personal. No posed for the massed commoners, planned to the Nth iteration dreams here. Sorry, Royals. And Diana was way prettier…

I’m sure the salient details will be available in review. CNN and others have nothing else to report, so all I have to do is wait for the next “top of the hour”. Closer to home, there is news. Our coffee machine is out of service, due to a (suspected) faulty switch. I’ve gone exploring in the basement, and have put our camping equipment into service: the push mugs that we purchased in a local outfitter shop will have to do. Instead of chewing the beans, I’ll have the occasional java that reminds me of shore time. That’s good, I guess.

And the election refuses to step down as the important story in the local newspaper. Can you picture the result of an “orange tsunami”? The editorial team at Le Soleil are trying. Polls may be unscientific, but as Front Page News, they’re all the publisher has to offer. Names vs names with supporting numbers. My own take on the situation is that if the headline on May 3rd shows an “orange tsunami”, that will be newsworthy. Until then, supposition.
