It only stings from time to time
It rained today. Not a lot. But, I was happy because I didn’t need my sunglasses. Wouldn’t fit.
You see, after an eye operation, you get a bubble to wear. Made from rigid plastic, it kind of interferes with eyeglasses. In other words, the return trip to the hospital, however roundabout, required a designated driver and guide. I love my guide.
I had my first opportunity to read out loud, and the letters weren’t clear. In fact, my reading skills, sinister as that might seem are back to Day 2, Grade 1. It will improve. I’m determined. I also have the lowest recorded pressure in my bionic eye, ever. Eight. I also have a owner’s card for my newest body part, which comes with a product sheet, installation instructions, the whole shebang. For the curious, my actual model number is the Baerveldt BG101-350 and I had professional help with getting things into place.
After we got home and woke the kids, I decided to teach son #2 his first lesson in macro photography. He had some problems with red eye (or maybe it was me).
The above illustration is for those who are easily upset by graphic images. My real eye looks more like this.
Pain is relative, and this is relatively painless. Except when I stir the hornets’ nest every couple of hours with the addition of some cortisone followed by a gooey salve. Only eight times a day with the drops, so I can get a couple of hours of relief before the next sting.
But, I do have lopsided binocular vision, so I’m officially a happy camper.
