In focus
One less thing to be curious about; the reason for the popularity of TV series-in-a-box. This weekend has seen me watching sixteen episodes of Republic Of Doyle, and without the commercials, life starts to take on a whole new meaning.
Plus, it’s been an immersion (virtual) in the scenery of St. John’s proper. I mean, I still don’t know where Mount Pearl is, exactly, and I keep waiting to see the Avalon Mall (Wonderful Grand Band reference), but that aside… it’s a right pretty place. Bit rocky, and there’s fog, but that’s more for effect and challenge.
The series is entertaining, to boot (rubber boot).
And on to other moments in the day. During pauses, I got my bellows and macro lens kit out of storage and hooked it up to the newer Pentax. Works well! I mean, I didn’t test things out, extensively, but I did get a nice shot of the clock on the stove. Just the clock. That’s what macro is all about. Shrinking the surrounding world into obscurity, to better focus on the object in view.
A moment in time. But, to prove that this wasn’t a fluke (the exposure and all), I crossed over to the TV set and grabbed another image. This time a commentary on how our lives are subject to the whims of equipment.
There are no flowers, or bugs, or interesting doohickeys around to distract me this evening, but if ever I get to St. John’s, I want to take the bellows along. Just to focus my attention.
