Warmed over content
Run for the hills. Or as a second plan, build on a hilltop.
Right now, the waters are high. In river valleys, along the coast. In parts of Quebec and eastern Canada, we’re seeing flooding like “not in my lifetime” to hear some residents. Clips of waves washing cottage windows along the shore of the Bay of Chaleur. Whole sections of small towns in southern New Brunswick, forced to swap the family car for someone’s boat. Not ordinary.
My plan is to build overlooking the water, but I’m factoring in some high ground. After all, if I wanted to own a houseboat, I’d be shopping for something with a fancy paint job. Instead, I want a house that keeps me dry (and warm) in these challenging climate shifts. After all, a room with a view shouldn’t require keeping hip waders at the foot of the bed.
Trying to stifle a yawn, as the new movie previews pass by. Forget new ideas; up and coming, we have a remake of “True Grit“. And a remake of “Tron“. And the remake of “Fame” is already on DVD. And I’m just exposing the tip of the iceberg. Foreign movies are fair game. “Millennium” (the Stieg Larrsen trilogy) is due for a Hollywood treatment. Not a better one, just a redo. Gives work to some studios and actors, I guess. But will anyone bother to download the result?
Imagine if Hollywood warmed over the supper from last week, and nobody was hungry.Would they give up on a bad non-idea, and go back to making original movies. Nah…
