Insults and derailments
At some point, the current government in Ottawa must return to the people, and I hope the people will be awake that day. This has been a hard week.
My health is relatively good; I don’t have to maintain a regular relationship with either my family doctor or the neighbourhood pharmacy. Good thing. Others aren’t as fortunate, in the economic sense. Drugs cost money, both individual and tax… as if there is a difference for any but the economist. The pharmaceutical industry is the big pup that refuses to be weaned, and this week the duly elected government saw fit to bestow another eight years of protection from the runt of the litter, the generic drug makers. No need to fear that the big pup will have to share or reduce any of the demand on the available nourishment. Rich is and rich remains.
The claim that this will allow the collective genius of the scientfic world to continue to develop new and exciting treatments doesn’t sit well with me; I figure a readjustment in their stock value is more likely.
On other fronts, the environment is no longer in any danger and we need not worry until 2050. All is fine. There is no looming crisis. Just relax. The government knows better than anyone else. What about your dog, you ask? Don’t; the opposition has her. No insults intended, we didn’t really hear what the honourable member didn’t even say…
This gang is a runaway train, and if the only “cure” is a derailment, then let it be so.
