Random minor details of the humdrum

posted in technology |

My life will never serve as the back story for a Hollywood thriller. At least, not when the highlight of the afternoon includes helping someone do their tax return, before getting down to the serious business of cutting frozen slabs of pork into small pieces for a curry.

This was an ordinary day, in my very ordinary life. A respite before before the start of another work week. I was please to note that my milk delivery tab is back on track (a slight hiccup happened when I voluntarily stopped delivery for a single day). Small victories in the mundane. I also did another ‘bit” of grocery shopping. The plan was to purchase muffins for breakfast. The result (after finding that the muffins were all gone) saw me bringing home four bags of other stuff. After all, I’m easily inspired/distracted.

The dog is in love with someone else. When we come home, she jumps around, pleased that we’re back in the compound. When one of my son’s acquaintances stops by, she cries with joy. Happened twice today, which proves that it wasn’t a misinterpretation. Does she figure that life would be better at his place?

I watched a documentary which showed my how much better the protection of certain world leaders is (what was that about the meaning of is, again?) that it was only decades ago. Instead of open horse-drawn carriages, the elite now travel in heavily armoured limousines. Far from the madding crowd…

Time to see if the curry is done. Then I can find a good book and go to bed.
