Just to prove the critics wrong
We’re across the bridge, which is a poor replacement for a summer ferry trip. Our hunger led us to Summerside, where our choice of restaurant was closed. In the worst sense; there was no sign of it being open for business at any time of day. Happily, the road to Charlottetown is well marked. We simply went to the other Smitty’s restaurant for a great breakfast with unlimited coffee. Great way to start the day.
After a short trip downtown to get some shoes, we took the dog over to Founder’s Hall, where she could demonstrate her aggressive nature to all and sundry. We also had an open-air concert by Allison Ling and a tiny Whitty stepdancer. The CD is now part of our collection. We followed the city “trolley” to the open highway.
I did the unexpected… we stopped in to visit friends on our first day on the Island. This might be a trick question in a trivia test someday, so take note.
We still needed to have a campsite to pitch tents, so off to Souris for groceries and then onward to Campbell’s Cove. We have a large site close to the beach, and our first camping meal of assorted fish is now history. The dog has been brought close enough to the ocean to demonstrate wavepanic, as in there’s a wave, now panic. The joys of teaching puppies about the world beyond the kitchen is so much fun.
