And a server returns

posted in computing |

I didn’t notice the box when I arrived, given that I was wet to the knees from wading through the temporary lake out on the street caused by the cold driving rain. Motorola has sent back a shiny new replacement for the print server mailed away two weeks ago. Good service.

I spent a part of the day assisting the DG departing with email archives. Not obvious, and he was shocked to hear that 99.9% of people have no backup of email, in spite of it being their most important (subjectively speaking) use of computers. I can’t be smug; my own email is split up into several blocks, and if I had to put it all back I simply wouldn’t. Not worth the effort…

The dog is starting to understand that he can go outside and come back in without attaching a human to his collar. All tests have been in nasty weather, but if he starts to trust that we won’t run away when he isn’t leading us then all will be golden (Lab).
