Eye on the needlepoint II
I returned to the hospital today for my pressure check, which turned out as a little low, because my eye had developed a leak. Literally. Never fear, the doctor was near and with her trusty sewing kit she simply did a couple of deft stitches and put some stability back in the tire. Excuse me, eye. It’s getting harder to separate the two ideas…
On other fronts, a big rush first thing today to send out multiple announcements to many corners of our educational domain, announcing that the DG (boss, for the rest of the world) is taking a leave of absence to return to studies, next Monday. Rarely has so little been said about so much.
The “other WoW machine” stopped today. Looks like a processor. Looks like more money. Looks like the high cost of keeping machines running 24/7 on the limits of their operating temperature curve.
My vote is cast. Although the official polling day is 23/01/2006 the polls have been open for several days now to ensure that people like myself that have an aversion to standing in line outside in subzero temperatures can take part in the democratic process. I felt very much in love with the environment today, and I chose accordingly.
