How to spend a day without really trying

posted in travel |

It’s the middle of one of those treasured long weekends. The one we wished for back in mid winter. The kind that we consider as “when summer is supposed to start”. With the temperature hovering around the need for a bigger coat, the rain now falling for many days and the pool returning to a deep Kelly green, summer seems to be a long way off.

I did drive out into the woods (son #3 off to visit a friend), and I did cook up a large Boeuf Bourguignon (how many Quiznos subs can a family really enjoy?). I did watch a TV special on the life of Princess Margaret (who???). You know, the one with no family name. Oh. But if someone asks next week about how was the weekend, tomorrow is going to be under a lot of performance pressure…
