If I didn’t see it, did it happen?

posted in health |

As near as I can tell/see, nothing happened today. I base that on a simple reality. Right now, my vision is in need of a reboot, and doing my usual (checking the headlines on the main news sites) gained nothing. If I can’t read it, did it really happen?

Tt is snowing, as promised, and our lane clearing lad confirmed that we’re good for another season. I would have a hard time trying to move the drifts (when we get some) by hand; once again, if I can’t see something, is it real? Where does my lane responsibility end and the road plow take over? There’s a deep ditch between here and the treelinee, and I’d hate to explore it from the bottom.

At heast, here in the house, my world has defined limits. I can reach out, use my momory to imagine what lies beyond a given door, and get through the day. Or night. Oblivious to darkness, I am. I found a podcast that promises months of new content (184 episodes, apparently), so I can hide away and pass my hours imagining what the presenters look like.

The same thing goes for most other things. I skipped an eyedrop moment, this afternoon, when I realized that I could not read iether the label nor the schedule sheet. I’m not desperate enouth to randomly sample from the meds collction. I waited until my caretaker returned from the shadowy world outside.

It’s still early, but if the wind comes up, I’ll have lots of company. And if none can see where they’re going, it puts me back in an equal position.

Still not driven to chanting. Singing. Whatever. Instead, I will take random listings un YT. Today, I missed new music, and received a lesson about history virology. Akin to wandering into random lecture halls, on campus, with no requirement to register or signal my attendance. And I can always go back to bed. Couldn’t see the clock, but I thought it was bedtime. The best excuse.
