Our hissy-pot is whole, once again

posted in technology |

A couple of months back, a visitor decided to get involved in home cooking. Perfect vacation goal. Anyhow, the recipe called for a “pressure cooker”, and we had just the thing. Except for one flaw. The little bouncy pressure thingie that goes on top was MIA, so we had to abort that plan and find a workaround. Nothing McGyver, if you’re worried about the direction.

I am troubled when things go MIA. It might have happened years back, before we moved, but there had to be a solution. I started my targeted search; eBay, Amazon, the pressure cooker store. And I found what seemed to be the answer, at a reasonable price. So, I placed an order. Today, in a driving rain, the driving delivery people showed up (yes, even on a Sunday). And to my delight, the piece works. I say that without going to the length of a real test. No water boiled. But I believe, and that’s what satisfies. Actually, time to invite our company back for a second try.

Will this prevent another lost bouncy pressure thingie, going forward? Who knows. At least, we don’t intend to move as a test.

About that rain. We don’t need it. The potato people don’t need it. The lawn and garden are green enough. Aggravation.

On an associated weather story, the “snowbirds” want to go back to the sunny south. It doesn’t stress them out; the thought of snow when there should be warm rain is enough to put their spirits into overdrive. Right now, the border is sealed, but the murmur will eventually convince the government to let those, who are willing, to pursue their mad goals.
