Just a dog in a jacket
Perhaps a small dog merits an extra sweater when the temperature drops below the comfort zone, but there are limits. This afternoon I spotted a local Airedale, out walking the human, and showing off the new jacket. Forget your handknitted variety; this was a full ski jacket, in red with white stripes, with four sleeves and a hood. Not the human, the dog. Ready for the local slopes. Where oh where is my camera when I need it most?
One of my first purchases at the virtual fleamarket was a MP3 player. One that used actual CD media and came with no guarantee; I now accept that the feature which shut the power off at random intevals was the reason for its availability online. No matter, I forgive the seller. But if that machine marks a starting point on the feature timeline (there must be a better term, and if you have it on the tip of your tongue, keep it to yourself. I’m past the age of being corrected), then progress is a marvelous thing.
We purchased (yet another) MP3 player this afternoon. A great price, pushed from behind with an additional “we’ll match any advertised price flyer”. This one plays music, video, ebooks, rambling speeches, etc. There’s a game section, and if we ever travel, maps of major subway systems in certain large cities. I’m impressed. All this in a package about the size of a 10 cent chocolate bar (circa 1965). The sound quality is better than any home stereo I’ve owned, and you can put the whole thing away when company comes to visit. Genious!
