In front of the grill

posted in food |

Outside, by the BBQ, there are many things to notice. That is, if the bugs haven’t learned about the feeding possibilities. This was a wonderful evening; sunshine, gentle breeze, a full tank of propane. Given the rareness of my grill moments so far this summer, that’s just normal. Mundane.

I could also hear a dog barking, next door. That was odd, because I didn’t know my neighbour even had a dog. Could be a visitor. I’ll wait for other signs. Things like a dog, barking at the moon, this fall.

In the post, a package. I actually had to go into town, and sign for it, and provide ID. Something about tracking things coming from far away; the Ukraine counts. I added a small Morse key to my collection. Must get busy on that generic wiring harness plan. In this case, the key was marked as NOS. They don’t make them anymore, or something. I have to assume that someone in desperate need to send code would either have their own collection, or…

As for the possibilities of elections, I take care to see who won’t be running. A sure sign that we’re close is when the “names” start to surface, usually with a proviso that they won’t be presenting. There wil be a full slate, in any case. Lots of people who want their turn at the trough, even if there are no qualifications to make them a contender. And no, I won’t be considering any such career change. There are much better ways to spend my remaining years. Right here, in front of the BBQ, for example.
